Mozilla has released the latest update of Firefox web browser, Firefox 48. It comes with a lot of new features and updates.
Firefox web browser should have automatically updated itself by now. For automatic updates you need to have Mozilla Maintenance installed. If you like to update Firefox manually, click on the Open Menu button, then on the Question mark icon button. It will opening the About dialog box from the Help menu in the web browser.
Canonical has today, April 21, 2016, officially launched the new version of its widely used Ubuntu Linux operating system for all devices. You can now download Ubuntu 16.04 LTS (Xenial Xerus) operating for both desktops and servers.
Ubuntu 16.04, dubbed as Xenial Xerus, is the most advanced version of the Ubuntu OS released. Ubuntu 16.04 is a LTS (Long Term Support) release which means it will receive updates and security patches for five years. During this time, multiple point releases will be released like Ubuntu 16.04.1, Ubuntu 16.04.2, etc. Ubuntu 16.04 LTS (Xenial Xerus) also uses long-term supported Linux kernel 4.4. Linux kernel 4.4 LTS will receive security updates and bug fixes longer than a normal kernel release would.

On November 19, 2012, Mozilla has released the latest Firefox 17.0 web browser (stable channel) for all supported platforms, including Windows, Linux, Mac OS X and Android. The most exciting feature is with Firefox 17, Mozilla finally brings social integration, to the stable channel of the web browser.
Other notable features and improvements are overall security of the web browser has been improved, by implementing click-to-play blocklisting and support for the “sandbox” attribute (HTML5) for IFrames. Additional Firefox 17 come with lots of performance improvements, fixes touch on the “new tab” page, fixes problem with the pointer lock not working in web apps or page down scrolling too far on websites with fixed headers.
Microsoft has announced the availability of Internet Explorer 10 for Windows 7, albeit as a pre-release “Preview” version. Previously, Internet Explorer 10 was released along with, exclusively for Windows 8, Microsoft’s recently launched operating system. After the launch, Microsoft announce they will release a preview version of Internet Explorer 10 for Windows 7, and later it will release IE10 final version for Windows 7.
The availability of the release preview of IE10 for Windows 7 falls just as Microsoft has planned earlier. As noted earlier, Microsoft said it would deliver the preview for Windows 7 in “mid-November.” In that same note, Microsoft said that the final version of IE10 will follow as it will collect “developer and customer feedback.” Microsoft also said that IE10 on Windows 7 has the same standards based platform for developers to target as IE10 on Windows 8.
Adobe has released the latest Adobe Reader version, Adobe Reader XI. Adobe Reader is one of the most popular PDF reader which lets you view, print, sign, and comment on PDF documents. The latest Adobe Reader version comes with Windows 8 support, new features to improve productivity, security, and deployment of the program.
The latest version now allows you to save filled PDF forms to your hard disk. If you need to sign on a PDF document, you now have the option to do it either by typing your name or scribbling your signature or use scanned image. You can get access to the new sign button from the View menu. Commenting tools present in Adobe Reader XI lets you easily highlight, strike through, add comments or sticky notes to your PDF documents. Microsoft has released the Customer Preview of its next version of Office productivity suite, Office 2013 (codenamed Office 15). Microsoft has not yet officially named Office 2013, but semi-officially, it’s called The New Microsoft Office. With Office 2013, Microsoft is also pushing hard Office 365, an alternative way of getting the latest version of its productivity suite via subscription and not the traditional up-front payment model, used to get the desktop Office suite.

Adobe has released Flash Player 11.3.300.262, which officially fixes the issues faced by Mozilla Firefox users.
Adobe Flash Player update that shipped earlier this month caused problems for Firefox users. Most users complained that the update caused Firefox to crash or freeze. Mozilla released an update last week to temporarily fix some issues related to Flash. Mozilla, along with Adobe also offered some troubleshooting tips for affected Firefox users.
