Mozilla has recently updated Firefox 3.5 to version 3.5.7. Firefox 3.5.7 and Firefox 3.0.17 are designed as security and stability updates for the open source browser. Usually, Mozilla makes a point of offering security and stability refreshes for Firefox 3.5 and Firefox 3.0 in tandem, and the latest updates are no exception to this rule.

At the time of writing, the official announcement is still to be made about the updates, but Firefox updates are now officially available for download and you can also download from the various download channels like Softpedia. You can download the latest version from them too or wait for the official announcement.

You can use the built-in automatic update, “Help > Check for Updates” option to update your browser or Firefox will automatically tell you about the update.

  1. As for using Firefox over other decent browsers, I think it’s the extensions which win me over. Firefox has some great extensions which I love.Firefox 3 touts faster rendering, vastly reduced use of system resources, clever new data-mining tools for your bookmarks and browser history, and more security features than any other browser.
