How To Disable Flash Completely In Google Chrome?

A lot of my readers were asking this question to me. They wanted to know how to completely disable flash in Google Chrome after Google decided to integrate Flash natively in Chrome web browser. So, I went in the quest to find the answer. Today, I found the answer hidden inside Google Chrome’s plug-ins manager (not the extension manager).

It is a very simple trick and disables flash completely 100% in Chrome web browser.

Simply follow these simple steps below:

  1. Open Google Chrome web browser and in a new tab, type about:plugins and press [Enter].

  2. Now you can see Google Chrome’s Plug-ins manager.

  3. Here find Shockwave Flash, Shockwave for Director, and Shockwave Flash and click on the Disable link for each of them.

  4. The effects of this can be see instantly and you don’t have to restart your Chrome web browser. See below, I opened a video in YouTube and it displays the message “You need to upgrade your Adobe Flash Player to watch this video. Download it from Adobe.

  2. I have an ASUS netbook and it’s awfully slow when browsing. I’m guessing the problem is flash. I’ll disable it per your instructions. I hate to say it, but in this age of lean computing, Steve Jobs is right. Flash is a resource hog.
