Sometimes removing Kaspersky Antivirus or Kaspersky Internet Security or Kaspersky PURE completely is important to fix issues with it or the operating system. You can easily uninstall it using the Programs and Features function (also known as Add or Remove Programs in Windows XP) in the Control Panel. Even after uninstalling this way you may get errors related to left over files or drivers. Completely removing a security suite like the Kaspersky Lab products sometimes requires more than the default uninstaller program shipped with it. For this reason, the vendors of the application releases special uninstaller that removes everything their application installed including hidden drivers. Kaspersky Lab has one such special tool aptly called Kaspersky Lab Products Remover popularly known as kavremover to do the dirty job here.

For protecting our computers from security and malware threats we sometimes experiment with different security suites to see which one is better than the other. In this process, we install and uninstall these security suites as it is always advisable to use only one antivirus or a full featured security suite at a time in our system. More than one antivirus or a full featured security suite that includes everything from a firewall, antivirus, anti-spyware, anti-malware, and more can cause lots of performance and stability issues.

Although we can easily uninstall the existing security program using Windows built-in “Add/Remove Programs” (or Programs and Features in Windows Vista and 7) applet but it’s not a perfect solution. Sometimes the uninstaller of the program doesn’t remove all the components and registry keys installed by the security program completely, this can hamper with the newly installed security program and may even cause system instability and BSOD’s.

The first public beta of Kaspersky Internet Security 2011 (KIS) and Kaspersky Antivirus 2011 (KAV) are now available for testing. You will also get a free 30 days beta license absolutely free to test the software.

Kaspersky with this new beta version has changed the way it delivers the software to the customer. KIS and KAV now comes in a single “all in one” installer, which means both KIS 2011 and KAV 2011 are included in one single installer and after installation, you are given the choice to activate between Kaspersky Antivirus 2011 or Kaspersky Internet Security 2011. Although, we cannot say if the change is permanent as it may be done temporarily for helping the beta testers.

The announcement was made on the Kaspersky forum and on Twitter. A forum account is required to access the beta testing forum. The programs on the other hand can be downloaded without forum registration. The download has both KAV 2011 and KIS 2011.
