Windows 10 Build 10049 Available For Download, Includes Spartan Web Browser
Great news for all Windows Insiders! Microsoft has released Windows 10 build 10049. The latest build that bundles the most anticipated feature, the Spartan web browser.
Finally, the wait is over. Windows Insider users can now download the latest Windows 10 build 10049 to test the new web browser. Spartan web browser will replace the now default Internet Explorer web browser. Except the inclusion of Spartan, Windows 10 build 10049 comes with a few bug fixes and improvements. It still does have a few bugs though, which is expected in a test build.
With the inclusion of Spartan in build 10049, Microsoft has started to nail the coffin of the Internet Explorer brand. Microsoft Internet Explorer has been the default web browser for so many years. It was included in all Windows editions since the beginning.
To make the transition smooth, the software giant will offer both Internet Explorer and Spartan together. Microsoft took this decision to handle any compatibility issues that may arise. Many programs including enterprise apps depending on Internet Explorer will stop working without the browser. There’s no doubt that Microsoft is going to offer only Spartan web browser at some point in the future. Thus Spartan web browser will be the only browser offered with Windows operating system. Spartan will replace Internet Explorer not only on the desktop version of the OS but also on tablets and smartphones. Microsoft Spartan is all set to rule the Windows platform starting the release of Windows 10.
Excited to test the new browser? We are too! But before you jump the ship and go to install Windows 10 build 10049, you should know that it’s only available to testers of the fast ring. It does have some issues and bugs too including some email issues and Visual Studio 2015 incompatibilities. Microsoft will release Windows 10 build 10049 to users of the slow ring by next week.
