Performance, Features, Recovery of Data

After you do a quick or full scan, the tool displays results from where you can select which data you want to recover. In the results, the original folder structure is preserved. Here, you can filter file types, explore directories, see file names, size, image resolution and thumbnail (for photos), creation date and last modification date. The icons on the right of each file indicates the condition of files. Whether they are deleted, lost or raw, or if they are in NTFS compressed or encrypted form.

If you are looking for a particular file which you may have deleted accidentally, you can use a search function. You can search for specific files by using case or word matching, or by applying advanced filters like file extension, date and file size. You can export the scan results to file for closer examination.

Before running full scans on partitions, media devices or CDs/DVDs, you can define the file types you are looking for recovery. This way you can narrow down your search, reduce scan time. You have the option to include or exclude documents, archives, graphics and pictures, audio and video, emails, databases, and other files types.

Once you have selected the files you wish to recover you will be asked to specify an output directory. After that, MiniTool Power Data Recovery will do the recovery. For proper recovery, you should keep in mind to select the drive which is different from the source.

Conclusion

MiniTool Power Data Recovery worked smoothly in our tests. It did not put any stress on the operating system and carried out all operations in reasonable time. The user interface is intuitive and the program is feature rich. Other than the 1 GB recovery limitation for the free edition of MiniTool Power Recovery we did not find any negative points. Even with the limitation, it is a good recovery tool for different types of users and it should meet most of their requirements. For more features you should consider getting the Personal or Professional edition based on your requirements. You can download and test the recovery tool for yourself.
