OS X Mountain Lion: Access 43 Amazingly Gorgeous Hidden Wallpapers
Apple has secretly tucked away around four dozen hidden wallpapers in a folder of OS X 10.8 Mountain Lion. Basically, Apple wanted to show you these gorgeous wallpapers when the screen saver activates, but you can easily change that.
OS X Daily has posted a quick how-to to find all the 43 amazingly gorgeous, secret wallpapers, all having 3200×2000 resolution, present in OX 10.8 Mountain Lion.
As said earlier, all these high-resolution images are shown when the screen saver activates, after you leave your Mac idle for a while. But you can easily copy them from their original folder and keep them in a folder created by you. You can then use these high-resolution images as desktop wallpapers or use them for whatever purpose you like.
How to get access to the hidden wallpapers of Mountain Lion?
Follow the steps below to get access to the high-resolution images and copy them to a folder of your choice.
- Open Finder and press
Command + Shift + G
keyboard shortcut to open “Go To Folder.” - Now, enter the following path (you can copy and paste it for convenience) and press Return: /System/Library/Frameworks/ScreenSaver.Framework/Versions/A/Resources/Default Collections/
- Inside that folder, you will find four folders, namely, “1-National Geographic”, “2-Aerial”, “3-Cosmos”, and “4-Nature Patterns.”
- Now, copy all these four folders to a folder of your choice. You can also copy these folders to the Desktop.
