Google Chrome Team has promoted Chrome 52 to the stable channel for Windows, Mac and Linux. A list of changes in the latest Google Chrome update, Chrome 52.0.2743.82, is available here.

If you already use Google Chrome you don’t need to worry about downloading the latest version manually. The web browser should download the update and install it automatically.

If you’ve followed the happenings in the Windows world, you must have already known that Internet Explorer 11 (IE 11) will be the default web browser in latest Windows 8.1 operating system. Internet Explorer 11 is feature rich and supports the latest web standards, IE11 can now preload websites, provides better protections for your PC and your privacy, supports WebGL and if your computer has “that” much RAM support, you can work on up to 100 tabs per window!

Adobe Systems’s Creative Suite (CS) is a collection of its different applications related to graphic design, video editing, and web development. The collection is mainly a great deal for users who wants to buy almost all Adobe’s applications (e.g., Photoshop, Acrobat, InDesign). Are you bored with the default images offered by Windows 8 for its Lock Screen? You can always browse through your wallpaper collection and customize Windows 8 lock screen. There’s a freeware Windows 8 App available which does the job for you. TuneUp IncrediLock is a freeware Windows 8 App which comes with a huge collection of nearly 400 images, which you can use to customize the Lock Screen wallpaper in Windows 8.

Apart from the usual huge collection of Lock Screen images, but the app also has a pretty neat trick up its sleeve. The app makes the Lock Screen more useful through the use of widgets, beyond simply showing the time. At the time of writing, TuneUp IncrediLock app has only one useful widget available for use but the developer plans to add a picture frame, calendar and a weather widget soon. Microsoft has already released Office 2013 final RTM version to TechNet and MSDN subscribers. Microsoft Office 2013 Consumer Preview was already available as free download. Microsoft has finally made available a 60 day trial of the full version of Office 2013 Professional free download.

Microsoft has announced the availability of Internet Explorer 10 for Windows 7, albeit as a pre-release “Preview” version. Previously, Internet Explorer 10 was released along with, exclusively for Windows 8, Microsoft’s recently launched operating system. After the launch, Microsoft announce they will release a preview version of Internet Explorer 10 for Windows 7, and later it will release IE10 final version for Windows 7.

The availability of the release preview of IE10 for Windows 7 falls just as Microsoft has planned earlier. As noted earlier, Microsoft said it would deliver the preview for Windows 7 in “mid-November.” In that same note, Microsoft said that the final version of IE10 will follow as it will collect “developer and customer feedback.” Microsoft also said that IE10 on Windows 7 has the same standards based platform for developers to target as IE10 on Windows 8.

Windows 8 comes with its own built-in backup function, titled, File History. File History automatically backs up your Desktop, Libraries, Contacts, IE Favorites, and Microsoft SkyDrive. If you ever lose data due to some mishap or change any file content stored in one of these locations, you can use File History to restore back the data. We’ll discuss more about File History in another dedicated article. Today, we will look at Paragon Image Backup for Windows 8.

As the release of Windows 8 is coming near, Paragon Software has released Image Backup for Windows 8, a simple backup software, which is probably also the first of its kind to support Windows Server 2012 and Microsoft’s new Resilient File System, ReFS.

Apple has released OS X Lion 10.7.4 update that features a number of security fixes, general improvements and Safari browser update. If you’re running OS X Lion 10.7.3 or earlier, just run the Software Update app and download 10.7.4 update.

With the latest update the Cupertino company have fixed the FileVault vulnerability, which left users’ FileVault passwords stored outside of encryption in easy to read plain text. Before you start worrying, not every OS X user is having this issue. This issue only occurs if an OS X user have upgraded from a previous installation of Snow Leopard to Lion. If your Mac came installed with OS X Lion as standard, then your Mac is safe from this issue.
