How To Update any version of Kaspersky Internet Security/Antivirus Offline

Millions of users around the world trust and use their antivirus products. But as with any modern antivirus or security solution, it requires database updates to protect you from new threats. Database Updates were never a problem for the user who is having internet connection, but what about the users who are offline or not having any internet connection. It is tough for them to update the database to the latest. This is a big security threat for their PC and a threat for their friends and relatives PC’s too.

You may be wondering how friends and relatives PC’s are under threat if the users PC is infected? Well, threats like trojan, viruses, malwares, spywares don’t just spread online. It spreads at a faster rate offline, thanks to the offline medias like CD, DVD, USB Flash Drives, etc. So, if you want to save yourself and your near and dear ones, you should always update the database.

If you are one of those who is not having internet connection or know someone and is using Kaspersky Products, here is a very small utility called Kaspersky Updater. It is very small utility made by Kaspersky Labs (without any official support for the utility) for users who are using Kaspersky Applications in their computers but are not having internet connection to update the applications offline.

The update utility is designed to download and save updates and modules of the Kaspersky Lab’s applications into a separate folder. With the help of the utility you can download updates for selected Kaspersky Lab’s applications installed either in your network or at a home PC. The utility has a function for saving downloaded updates and autopatches in a local folder, a network folder connected as a disc to the computer file system, or onto a flash-carrier. It comes in GUI (Graphical User Interface) and command line versions.

All settings of the utility are defined in the configuration file. In order to configure and launch the update utility which is run under Windows operating system, there is a GUI available for use. Updater utility interface is available in the following languages: Chinese, English, French, German, Hungarian, Italian, Polish, Russian, and Spanish.
