During WWDC 2014, Apple unveiled the next iteration of its Mac OS X operating system, OS X 10.10 codename OS X Yosemite. Apple also promised to release OS X Yosemite beta for everyone. Keeping its promise, Apple opened the doors of OS X Yosemite beta program. If you have a compatible Mac you can download and install OS X Yosemite Beta to test a preview of the operating system.
How to get into the OS X Beta Program and download OS X Yosemite Beta now?
To get into the OS X Beta Program, you need to first sign up through the official OS X Beta Program site. You will need a working Apple ID to sign up. If you don’t have an Apple ID, you can create one for free.
After you’ve done that, you will receive an email from Apple. This email is important as it comes with the instruction to download OS X Yosemite beta.
Apple developers usually get updates every two weeks. But don’t expect those updates while testing the public beta of Yosemite.

How to leave the OS X Beta Program?
If you want to leave the beta program for any reason you can do so by visiting the Leave Program page. Follow the instructions on that page to remove your Apple ID from the OS X Beta Program.
To remove OS X Yosemite beta software, you will need to erase, install, and restore the Time Machine backup of Mavericks. This is the backup you created before installing the OS X Yosemite Beta.
What are the changes in OS X 10.10 Yosemite?
The first change that you will notice is the new flat user interface along with changes to the default font. The redesigned flat user interface includes translucent layers along with flat simple Application icons. As Apple releases updates for Yosemite, plenty of new features are expected. Some of the new features are expected to work properly when Apple releases iOS 8.

OS X Yosemite Release Date
Last year, Apple released OS X Mavericks on Oct. 22, 2013. Apple hasn’t yet announced an exact date for the launch of OS X Yosemite. Apple only said that OS X Yosemite will arrive in the Fall.
