PayPal Now An Alternative Payment Option For Google Play Store
Google has started accepting PayPal as a payment options for use on Google Play Store. According to the official Android Developers Blog, PayPal payment option is now available as an alternative of Google Wallet on Google Play Store. Now, all Play Store customers across 12 countries, including the U.S., Germany, and Canada, can use it to purchase Android apps and other digital purchases. When you make a purchase on Google Play in these countries, you’ll find PayPal as an option in your Google Wallet; just enter your PayPal account login and you’ll easily be able to make purchases.
Customers of Austria, Belgium, Canada, Finland, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Netherlands, Spain, United States, United Kingdom can use PayPal as an alternative mode of payment to buy apps and digital content on Google Play Store.
Google Play Store’s PayPal payment limitations
Before you rejoice for having PayPal as an alternative payment option, you should note that there is a catch which some of you may not like. If you visit Google Play Store’s support website, you will notice that you won’t be able to use PayPal to purchase non-digital purchases like devices or accessories. You need to use Google Wallet to purchase Nexus device or accessories. You also won’t be able to use PayPal for purchasing anything else that use Google Wallet outside the Google Play Store. So, if you are thinking of purchasing Nexus device using PayPal, you are out of luck. You need to use Google Wallet to make the purchase. Until Google allows purchasing non-digital stuff from the Play Store using PayPal, you can only use your PayPal balance to purchase Android apps, games, movies, books, and music.
Carrier billing, Google Play gift cards, developer sales in more countries
Google now allows seven more countries (for a total of 24 countries), to accept Carrier billing as a mode of payment for Google Play Store purchases. Customers of the supported countries can charge purchases made in Google Play directly to their phone bill. Google Play gift card option is now available to a total of 13 countries, including Japan and Germany. Google now allows developers based in 13 new countries to sell apps on Google Play.
