Microsoft Releases Major Windows 8.1 RTM Update Ahead Of Windows 8.1 Official Launch

Microsoft has released an update for all machines running Windows 8.1 RTM just ahead of the official launch of the new operating system.

The software giant has updated all the built-in Windows Metro apps; Finance, Travel, Sports, Video, Windows Calculator, Movie Moments, Weather, Reader, News, Windows Scan, Mail, Calendar, and People, Music, Windows Sound Recorder, XBox 360 SmartGlass, Bing Heath & Fitness, Skype, Games, Windows Alarms, Windows Reading List, Bing Food and Drink and other apps.

In case, you’ve set Windows 8.1 to automatically install new releases, no user response is required.

Windows 8.1 is set to make its public début later today around the world, starting with New Zealand at Midnight (4 AM Pacific Time). The free Windows 8.1 update will begin appearing for Windows 8 users through Windows Store.
