Apple Releases OS X 10.11.4 Beta 3 Public Beta

Apple has released public beta of OS X 10.11.4 beta 3. Before released to the public, the betas were seeded to Apple developers two days ago. OS X 10.11.4 beta 3 brings many new features, improvements and updates to Apple’s desktop operating system including secure notes, live photos to messages, and other stability and performance improvements. Apple also updated the developer build of OS X 10.11.4 beta 3 to 15E39d.

What’s New in OS X 10.11.4 Beta 3

Earlier versions of OS X 10.11.4 beta introduced new features like the ability to view and share Live Photos shot on the iPhone 6s and 6s Plus using Messages, password protected secure Notes. The latest beta 3 of OS X 10.11.4

In the current stable version of OS X El Capitan 10.11.3, sending and receiving Live Photos through iMessage on the Mac removes the audio and video elements as only the still image is supported. Starting with OS X 10.11.4 beta 3, Live Photos will work as expected in Messages. The latest beta update is expected to resolve an issue with opening Twitter URL links in Safari too.

With the release of OS X El Capitan, Apple added new formatting features to the Notes app. OS X 10.11.4 beta 3 update goes a step further with introduction of password protected secure notes. Syncing of secure notes with iOS requires iOS 9.3 beta 3 on the iPhone and iPad. Password protected secure notes will not appear on older platforms. You can either access secure notes using the secure password used to protect it or by using your fingerprint Touch ID supported iPhone and iPad.

The first developer beta of OS X 10.11 appeared in early January. In addition to developer betas, Apple has also been releasing public beta versions of the 10.11.4 update to public beta testers.
