Most of the time, in the event of a virus attack, the virus changes computer security settings to hide itself and do harm. Even though, you may have cleaned the virus by using the various security tools, these changed security settings remains intact in the computer which further causes trouble. You may start getting various “You don’t have permission to…” errors, which is very frustrating. Previously, we have written about tools like Re-Enable, XP Quick Fix Plus and 7 Quick Fix which to some extends help restoring default settings in Windows. We found a new utility which is built specially to restore the default security settings of Windows.

Rizone Security Restore is a small portable utility that will attempt to restore your computer to the default security settings. This application is very useful for situations as described above, like when you start getting, “You don’t have permission to… blah, blah, blah” errors, while trying to install programs or updating Windows and other programs. It will also attempt to repair the dreaded 0×80070005 error messages when trying to register dll files while installing certain Windows components or programs.

Sometimes you will not get this specific error number, but just an “Installation Failed” message. This tool will usually also repair these errors, such as: when you get installation failure error when trying to install Internet Explorer 7 or get permission errors while installing BitDefender AntiVirus.

Note: This application should only be used when you actually have something wrong with your computer. This will normally be after a virus attack and you are trying to register components, such as: when you try to update a Windows installation. Also, when you try to install an AntiVirus program after virus removal and you keep on receiving permission errors.

This utility replaces the popular Rizone 0×80070005 FIX application.
