AudialsOne 8, the latest version of AudialsOne, is released few days back. We were very impressed by the earlier version of AudialsOne 4. Let me first give you some overview about what AudialsOne is capable of. AudialsOne gives you instant access to over 50,000 Internet radio stations along with millions of songs, international video, music and podcast portals. It offers unbeatable capabilities for targeting and downloading unlimited quantities of the free entertainment you’re looking for.

After we got our hands on the latest version, the first thing that we did was check out what is new and what has improved since our previous review. We noticed a lot of improvements in the program that can be seen spread throughout the user-interface, the way it records multimedia content like songs, video, podcasts, and remove DRM from media.

Installation

Installation procedure is very simple for AudialsOne 8. It also provides the option to install it as a regular program or do a portable install. It is a nice option if you want to carry AudialsOne with you in a USB flash drive. Definitely a boon for portable application users.

Features

After the installation is completed, which we noticed took less time then the earlier version of AudialsOne, we launched AudialsOne and just like earlier versions, AudialsOne greeted us by showing the splash screen.

The user-interface feels much more polished than earlier versions and now accessing different functions are lot more easy for end-users, as you can see from the screenshot below:

As you can see above, the first tab that is default is the Radio tab. If you don’t want to waste any time and want to record some music from your favourite genre, simply select your genre of choice and click on the Start Recording button. If you have your favorite internet radio station in mind, from which you want to record, simply click on the Stations button. Select the radio station and click on the Record button present at the top of the Manage Stations window. Scheduling is also possible by clicking on the Schedule button. You can also Favor, Delete, Ban or visit the radio stations website from this window. If you have a manual list of Radio Stations, you can also import that using the Load button.

You can use the Search tab to search for music or videos of a particular artist or song.

One of the most notable feature of AudialsOne, also present in the earlier version, is the WishList. Using Wishlist, you can search the web or your local music collection for music and videos by artists that you have specified. You can compile several wish lists, and switch between them. AudialsOne saves all your wish lists automatically and records music of the selected artists automatically.

Capture is the new proper name given to the tab Web. As the name suggests you can capture media from the web as you browse sites like Last.Fm, Pandora, YouTube, etc from your browser. If you are a fan of Podcasts, AudialsOne comes with a very powerful Podcast support. You can subscribe from an already extensive list of Podcasts or add your own.

AudialsOne 8′s Converter tab is what you should be looking for if you want to DRM free your media. It is very powerful and accurately removes DRM from media while keeping the quality intact. You can remove DRM from AudioBooks, DVDs and other media.

Other improved features of AudialsOne 8 are Organizer, Media Converter. You can organize all your multimedia files and categorize them into Artists and Genres. You can let AudialsOne automatically reorganize all your media. Using the latest version you can even import and export from the Cloud Storage, Esnips.com, MP3Tunes and TunesBag. It also includes a ring-tone creator, if you want to create ring-tones for your mobile device. The in-built burner allows you to burn tracks to a disc.

Ease of Use

AudialsOne 8 is fully feature packed and it has improved a lot since the earlier version. Everything is well laid out and is just a click away. Even though AudialsOne comes packed with so many functions, still its very easy to use, thanks to the well thought design of the user interface. It allows you to easily find millions of streaming music and video from around the web to view, listen to or download to your local drive. On the fly conversion of the downloaded media is also a plus.

Performance

We can easily find a notable performance improvement from the earlier version of AudialsOne.

Support

Radiotracker is one of the best internet radio ripper available in the market. We have reviewed the earlier version of Radiotracker Platinum and were more than satisfied with its features, performance and usability. So, when we got our hands on the latest version of Radiotracker Platinum 6, we were much more excited to see the improvements done in this version.

If you are a user of the earlier version of Radiotracker and if you upgrade to the latest version, the first thing that you will notice is the change in the user interface with four themes, Blue, Green, Red, Snow. Significant changes noticed here are, the three tabs are now called Radio, Wishlist, Podcasts instead of the earlier Radio, MusicFinder and Podcasts. MusicFinder rechristened as Wishlist in the latest version is now more easy to use. Users who are wondering what Wishlist is, well, Radiotracker’s Wishlist is in itself a very unique function which is not seen in any other similar internet radio rippers. To take the advantage of Wishlist, you need to first know how it works? You just need to select your favorite music artist from a list of over 100,000 musicians or select specific songs that you want to download. After creating your Wishlist, just click on the large Fulfill button. As soon as one of the many thousands of simultaneously monitored stations plays your desired music, Radiotracker automatically records and accurately tags that exact song or artist. Functionality of the Radio tab and Podcast tab remains same as that of the earlier version with some improvements. The Radio tab helps you rip your songs from your favorite genre. Select the desired genre, and, click on the big Start recording button. Similarly, under the Podcasts tab, podcast lovers will be able to subscribe to their favorite podcast channels. Like an autopilot, Radiotracker will rip the songs, cut them properly, tag them and after completion, it will add the songs to the music organizer.

Radiotracker lives up to our expectations with all the new features and improved old features. During the making of the review we ripped a few of our favorite songs to test Radiotracker’s ability, and, we’re very pleased to see that Radiotracker has fulfilled our wish almost perfectly.

Radiotracker is definitely a keeper for us and we recommend it to all the music lovers for expanding their music collection freely and legally.

Installing AudialsOne is very easy and you just need to follow the installation wizard. After selecting your installation directory, the installer asks if you want to integrate your existing music collection or not.

During installation don’t forget the to consider installing the LAME MP3 encoder.

After the first installation process, it will ask for confirmation of Driver installation.

Then the installer will configure Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 Redistributable.

At some point of installation, the Security Center pops up a message about installing RapidSolution driver, click on Install here to successfully install AudialsOne.

Features [9/10]

AudialsOne is having almost all the features that any music lover can ask for. The included features pretty much takes care of all your entertainment needs. Everything is accessible through the main user interface and is just a click away.

When you first launch AudialsOne, you will be in the Radio tab, if you want to record some music of your favourite genre or from your favourite Internet radio station or social radios like last.fm, imeem, pandora or soundclick, just select the desired genre and click on Start Recording. AudialsOne will automatically start ripping songs for you, tag them, download other media information, lyrics, etc and save the songs automatically.

If you click on the Stations button, you can browse through different genres of Internet radio from around the world. Here, you can add manually Internet radio stations which are not present in the list. If you select a lower bit-rate for the streaming stations you will end up with a lot more results.

You can use the Search tab to search for music or videos of a particular artist or song. Under Search when you click on the Artist button, you can browse through a large database of artists.

One of the notable feature of AudialsOne is the WishList. Using Wishlist, you can search the web for music and videos by artists that you have specified. You can compile several wish lists, and switch between them. AudialsOne saves all your wish lists automatically.

The Web functionality provides a convenient way to get music and videos from any websites like Last.FM, YouTube, etc. AudialsOne automatically keeps track of all media played back in your browser, and saves them to your computer.

If you like Podcast, then AudialsOne is a very good podcatcher. If you don’t know what a Podcast is, don’t worry we are here to help you out. A podcast is a series of digital media files (either audio or video) that are released episodically and downloaded through web syndication. A simple definition will be, Podcasts offer regular shows like radio or television series. There are thousands of podcast offering news or entertainment shows as well as podcast dedicated to specific topics. You can add podcast to the list to listen or download or watch podcast episodes.

Using Converter, you can remove annoying DRM from the audio and video files that you own to easily transfer them to other computers and portable devices or you can simply convert your audio and video files to other formats. When converting there are different formats you can convert the files to depending on what you want to play them on. I did a test with some of my DRM audio files and AudialsOne lived up my expectations and perfectly removed the DRM protection while keeping the quality of the file intact. AudialsOne comes with a powerful feature called Organize. You can organize all your multimedia files and categorize them into Artists and Genres. You can let AudialsOne automatically reorganize all your media. Here, you will find a nice feature called Autotag. Autotag searches the Internet for meta data to tag your recorded mp3′s. It also finds album artwork and lyrics from a variety of sources. If you have lesser known music you can also manually edit the tags as well.

It also includes a ring-tone creator, if you want to create ring-tones for your mobile device. You can create ringtones by clicking on the Mobile button.

The in-built burner allows you to burn tracks to a disc.

audials TV is another cool feature for watching music videos of all music genres from the web.

AudialsOne features portable device synchronization. Just click on the Gadget button to configure and synchronise your portable device like your mobile, MP3 player, etc with your music collection.

Ease of Use [9/10]

Even though it is fully feature packed and many things going on simultaneously in AudialsOne but everything is laid out nicely, just a click away and is very easy to use. AudialsOne allows you to find tons of streaming music and video from around the web to download or view or listen. You can easily filter the search to a particular genre or artist. Click on Start Recording to download the media from the web. You can then view the progress or listen to the currently ripped song while AudialsOne is saving them to the hard drive.

Performance [8/10]

Overall AudialsOne performed very well. It successfully ripped and processed audio and video quickly on my AMD system running Windows 7, while I was using the Organize and using the in-built player to listen to the music simultaneously. But as you can understand that running all these processes is surely going to take up resources, but it didn’t bog down my system at all. As I was also using Chrome to surf the Internet and also had other programs running. As you can see in the screenshot below, the first screenshot is taken when I was doing all the stuff said above and the second one when AudialsOne was only ripping songs and videos.

VERDICT: Radiotracker is the best, easy-to-use professional tool to convert Internet streams into MP3′s that allows editing tracks, give user-specific results, and provides good value for money.
FOR: Very simple and easy-to-use with most features just a click away, advanced features are easy to configure, huge built-in database of web radio stations and podcast, burn MP3′s easily, create ring-tones, synchronize with portable music players.
AGAINST: None in particular though some tracks were not perfectly ripped, they were clipped or the MP3′s fade-in incorrectly, but it’s not entirely Radiotracker’s fault.

Over the past few days I have been busy in expanding my music collection exponentially by ripping songs off the Internet legally for free using Radiotracker! Radiotracker is the ultimate tool for any music lover for recording music from over 70,000 artists, 20,000 Internet radio stations and around 80 different music genres with the unique features like Autorip, MusicFinder and more. You must be thinking if that is really legal? It is completely legit if you rip songs from web radio stations as long as you keep the music to your personal collection and not share it. You will find more information about this here if you are in doubt.

With Radiotracker’s Autorip feature, you will have to just select the desired genre and click on AutoRip and sit back while your hard disk is filled up with thousands of songs from your favourite artists or genre. Another nice feature of Radiotracker is that it automatically enhances most of the ripped songs with corresponding album cover art, lyrics, and track-specific information. You can also edit this information with easily using the in-built ID3 tag editor. The software also saves the tracks by organizing them into different folders according to your choice. You can sort them according to genre, station, artist, album or you can just leave them all without sorting! By default, only stations broadcasting at 128 Kbps or higher are recorded, but you can alter this to your liking. To test the Autorip feature, I selected Rock as the genre and clicked on Autorip, within seconds I found that Radiotracker automatically started ripping all the tracks from the Rock genre and I must say that I am very impressed by the end results.

To help music lovers further, Radiotracker features another great feature “wish list” which is combined with MusicFinder. Using the wish list is much more useful as it allows you to specify particular artists, tracks or albums that you would like to record. You can even find relatively obscure artists included in Radiotracker’s database. To test this feature I added four artists and clicked on Activate. The software started scanning through more than 2500 stations to find my desired music and saved them automatically when they are played in any web radio station.

If you like podcast then Radiotracker also have an extensive podcast database of more than 40000 audio podcast and around 7000 video podcast. Downloading podcast is very easy. You have to subscribe to the desired station and click on Activate to start downloading. Other features worth mentioning are MP3 synchronization with iPod, MP3 players or your mobile phone, Exporting track list to Windows Media Player, iTunes or Winamp, Burning the downloaded tracks to an Audio CD, MP3 CD or MP3 DVD, Creating ring-tones, Editing tracks, Editing ID3 tags and the built-in music player.

Raditracker is available in Premium and Platinum version, the Premium version lacks features like wish lists, MusicFinder, recording off social web radio sites. Radiotracker Premium version is priced at $26.90/€19.90 and Raditracker Platinum version is priced at $39.90/€29.90.
