You received or downloaded a file which Windows does not recognizes. Then, how to open files with unknown file extensions? A file that has no extension or that has an extension that is not listed in the Registry on your computer will need to have some program associated with its type before it can be opened or otherwise used.

While your computer may be configured to use Notepad for opening unknown file types. If not then if you double-click on such a file, Windows will bring up the unknown file dialog box, where Windows displays an appropriate programs list to open the file with but in most of the cases this tends to be useless. Mozilla Firefox 3.5 Released

firefoxMozilla has released the final version of its web browser Firefox 3.5 for download. If you were using Mozilla Firefox version 3.0.11 then you can update to the latest version using the following method:

  • Open Firefox 3.0.11
  • Click on Help and then select Check for updates.
  • Firefox will tell an update is available and may also give you warning with the list of plugins that may stop working after you download this latest version.
  • Click on the update button to update to version 3.5
  • After completing download restart Firefox to apply the update.

Simple and easy way to update to the latest version. :)
