I know that it doesn’t need any new introduction, so today I am sharing with you the full keyboard shortcuts that I know and use. You don’t have to be rocket-scientist to know that using keyboard shortcuts really helps and makes our life easier and gives us more control! And who wants to fiddle with the mouse and point at any button when you can just press a key or a combination of two to do the job in a fraction of second? ;-) These keyboard shortcuts below work for VLC Media Player 1.0.x and will/may also work with the previous versions and the latest versions seamlessly. Common Windows BSOD Error Messages and Suggested Solution – Part II

I hope the first part of this series was helpful for you in troubleshooting Windows bluescreen of death. As promised, this is the continuation of the previous part of “Common Windows BSOD Error Messages and Suggested Solution”.

Stop Code: STOP 0x0000007F
UNEXPECTED_KERNEL_MODE_TRAP
Source: This error is usually hardware related – especially corrupt memory (RAM), mismatched RAM modules or a faulty motherboard.
Recommended: To rectify this error, you may follow the steps illustrated below:

  • Try the following hardware troubleshooting steps:
    1. Test the RAM in the computer by running the diagnostic software that is provided by the computer manufacturer. Replace any RAM that is reported as bad. Also, make sure that all the RAM in the computer is the same speed.
    2. Try removing or swapping out controllers, cards, or other peripherals.
    3. Try a different motherboard on the computer.
  • If you are over clocking the speed of your processor, set it back to the speed at which it is designed to run.
  • Check with the hardware vendor for any updated hardware drivers or BIOS updates, or both.

This helps in solving the problem that caused Windows blue screen of death (BSOD). Today I am sharing some of the most common STOP Messages along with their possible cause and suggest some resolution to rectify the problem. This should take care of a large number of user’s problems, when they see the blue screen of death. This is the first part of the two part series.

Troubleshoot Windows Blue Screen of Death

The most frustrating experience while using Windows is the random restarts in case of any errors. It gets bad when we don’t even get any chance to see or verify whats wrong and troubleshoot Windows. Windows Blue Screen of Death (BSOD) displays some information regarding the cause of these random reboots but since Windows is configured to restart automatically in case of a BSOD we can’t view the error message. Here’s a simple tip to disable automatic restart in case of a BSOD and help troubleshoot the error. This tip can be used for all versions of Windows XP and above.
