Google Chrome has finally arrived for Android mobile devices.

On Tuesday, in an official Google Chrome blog post, the company announced the release of Chrome Web browser for Android app. While announcing, the company said that like the desktop version, Chrome for Android Beta is focused on speed and simplicity. The new browser features seamless sign-in and sync to make sure you get the same personalized web browsing experience wherever you go, across devices.

Actually, the Chrome Beta app is only available for Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich (ICS) phone or tablet. So, if you fall in the 99% of Android device users who still don’t have ICS, you’re out of luck. Further if you don’t live in United States, Canada, United Kingdom, France, Germany, Spain, Australia, Japan, Korea, Mexico, Argentina, Brazil but have ICS, you’ll not be able to find and download the app from the Android Market. It seems Google wants to limit the beta version to as few users as possible.

Chrome Web browser app will serve as an alternative to the default Android Web browser, with an uninspiring title “Browser.” Just like the desktop version, the app features tabbed browsing, lets you search and navigate from the omnibox, browse privately in Incognito mode. When you sign in to Chrome, the app syncs your bookmarks and lets you view tabs you have open on your computer.

Some cool additions were also made to the mobile version. You can open and switch between unlimited tabs in an easy-to-view stack. You can also send pages from desktop Chrome to your smartphone or tablet with one click and read them on the go, even if you’re offline.

Mozilla announced their move to rapid release cycle about nine months ago, since the move, Firefox has moved from version 4 to 10.

According to the official beta change log, Firefox 10 brings in a lot of new features, which you’d expect from a six-week update cycle. Firefox 10 features extension management improvements, a forward button that hides itself until you need it, the inclusion of APIs for full-screen web apps, and anti-aliasing for WebGL.

With Firefox 10, Mozilla introduces the ESR (Extended Support Release) version of the browser primarily for enterprises. ESR releases will receive no updates apart from necessary security fixes, and will change versions once every seven releases. So, after six months when regular Firefox 10 users will be upgrading to Firefox 11, ESR users will be upgraded to version 10.1.

The most significant change in Firefox 10 is that add-ons are now automatically set to be compatible if they have also been compatible with Firefox 4. This will end all the add-on compatibility issues that users face after each version update. A great relief for the add-on developers too.

According to the Google Chrome Releases blog, Chrome 16 has many improvements. These includes enhancements to Sync and the ability to create multiple profiles on a single instance of Chrome.

With the enhancement of multiple profiles, Chrome users can now easily add new users, each user will have their own sync profiles. To add a new user, click on the Spanner icon (Settings) and go to Options (Preferences on a Mac). Click “Personal Stuff” and then click on “Add new user”. Chrome will start a new instance of the web browser, users can now customize with their own set of apps, bookmarks, extensions, and other settings.

Users can now customize the name and badge present in the upper corner which lets them know that this new Chrome browser belongs to them. If a user clicks on this badge, a drop-down menu appears, through which users can easily switch between different Chrome users profiles.

With each new release of Firefox by Mozilla, we see better performance, stability and security. But, despite all these improvements, Firefox is still resolutely a 32-bit browser. Yes, Mozilla is still working on Firefox 64-bit, but for some reason, they haven’t officially released any 64-bit builds for Firefox. If you can’t wait, you can grab a nightly build of the 64-bit available for Windows and Linux from Mozilla servers.

Many people will hesitate to use a nightly build for regular use. For those who wants stability and don’t want to try a risky nightly build, Waterfox might be an answer. Waterfox is an actual Firefox version, optimized for 64-bit systems and aims to fill the void. The release cycle of Waterfox is in sync with Firefox’s official release cycle. With last week’s Firefox 9 release, the Waterfox project developers released version 9.0 of its own software. Convincing enough to try? We guess, it is. Let’s quickly go through the main features of Waterfox.

The developers of Waterfox have tweaked Firefox source code to work better with 64-bit processors. For the technical persons, the developers have compiled the code base with SSE, SSE2, x64 favoring and the following optimization flags: /Og /Oi /Ot /Oy /Ob2 /Gs /GF /Gy. There’s one major requirement before you install Waterfox on your computer. The browser requires Visual C++ 2010 Redistributable Package (x64) installed, otherwise you’ll get an error message involving msvcr100.dll. Printing webpages is sometimes very painful experience. What to do when the webpage you want to print is not so “print friendly“? What to do when you want only a portion of the content to print instead of the full webpage? How to remove all the ads, useless navigation links and other unwanted content before printing to save toner and page?

Well, Print Edit add-on for Firefox is an answer to all these questions and more. It basically enhances the basic Print Preview functionality by adding an Edit button to it.

After installation of the plugin, restart Firefox. Now, visit any website which you want to Print it after using Print Edit. Click Print Edit in the Firefox File menu under Print sub menu or right-click on the page and select Print Edit or from within the Print Preview, click the “Edit” button in the toolbar.

Once in editing mode you can select and deselect elements, hide and delete elements. After you select a section, it gets outlined by a blinking-broken-red line border. You can even select many sections at once and do the tasks.

If you are an advanced user, you can even decorate the page by doing some advanced tweaking through the Format drop-down option. Using Format you can resize the margins, change alignment, change list style, change border and so on. Once you’re done formatting the page, click Preview to see the result. If you’re happy with it, print away. If not, you can always click Edit again and continue tweaking it.

If you simply want to view the contents of ZIP or RAR archive files or just want to extract some files, you can now do so using the viewer.

Now, you might be wondering how to view the contents of the archive files using the viewer. If the archive was sent to you through email to your Gmail account, you can easily open it using Docs viewer. Now, lets you have just seen a very good freeware available in an archive file for download. You can always go ahead and click on the download button to download it. But why don’t take the advantage of Google Docs viewer and see beforehand whats inside that archive? It would have been time-consuming to do that manually, but thanks to the “Open ZIP and RAR With GDocs” Chrome extension, you can now easily view whats inside that ZIP or RAR archive file before downloading it.

The extension aptly titled “Open ZIP and RAR with GDocs” allows you to view the contents directly in your browser using Google Docs viewer. Google has launched a number of changes including a black nav-bar with gray font color, the navigation bar present at the top, which links to many Google services. But for many users this contrasting change is unacceptable unlike many who loved it. They want to get back good old white navigation bar. For those users who wants to get back the old interface, here’s a very quick tip (actually a userscript).

Google Light Navbar userscript restores back the original white nav-bar and blue font color on all Google pages. The userscript works in the Firefox, Chrome and Opera web browser. Here’s how to get the userscript working on your favorite browser.

Simply download Google Light Navbar userscript from http://userscripts.org/scripts/show/105735 and install it.

Firefox users will first need to install Greasemonkey or Scriptish add-on before they can install and use the script.

Chrome users can directly visit the userscript page and install it to instantly use it.

Opera users will need to specify a directory on their computer where they put userscript in, if they haven’t done so already.

You can do so by clicking on the Opera button, than on Settings, Preferences, Advanced, Content, JavaScript Options. Now browse to specify the directory. Download the script and put it into the directory specified for use.

The userscript works without restarting the browser. If you are having the page open already, you may need to reload the page to see the changes in effect.

The author of the script also mentions that the user is free to customize the nav-bar color to any color of their choice.

Development of Mozilla Firefox has really speed up. We can tell this from the fact that Mozilla developers earlier set the official release date of Firefox 5 to June 21, still three days from today. Users, who do not want to wait for the official announcement of the stable release, can go ahead and download the popular web browser from the official Mozilla ftp site.

What’s new in Firefox 5? The release notes list the following new features and changes:

• Added support for CSS animations
• The Do-Not-Track header preference has been moved to increase discoverability

• WebGL content can no longer load cross-domain textures
• Improved spell checking for some locales
• Improved desktop environment integration for Linux users.

The do not track header preference moved to the Privacy tab for an easy setup. Users can activate it to send a “do not track” request to each website they open and have better online privacy.

Users can download the latest version of Firefox 5 from the official Mozilla ftp server. Most Firefox release mirrors will also soon offer the new version on their servers.

If you notice Internet Explorer issues like cannot IE cannot open any website, or browsing through IE is consistently slower than normal even when Internet connection is good, or a recent malware infection has messed up your Internet Explorer settings.

Does IE often stops responding, or stops working? Do you receive error messages that show that Internet Explorer has “encountered a problem and needs to close“? Or that a Visual C++ “runtime error” has occurred in Iexplore.exe? It’s time to reset your Internet Explorer to its default settings.

After the release of Internet Explorer 7, Microsoft has introduced a single-button reset function for IE which can still be found in IE 9. If that reset button is clicked, it resets IE to Windows or manufacturer’s defaults.

Warning: Resetting Internet Explorer is not reversible. After a reset, all previous settings are lost and cannot be recovered. Rather than resetting everything, you might first want to reset specific settings (steps described in the second part of this article).

What happens to Internet Explorer 9 when we reset it?

What stuff are deleted? Browser history, stored passwords, temporary internet files, cookies, saved form data, typed URL history, websites added to different security zones under Privacy tab and allowed websites in Pop-up blocker.

What stuff are reset to defaults? Home page, Security tab settings, Advanced tab settings, Privacy tab settings, Search providers, tabbed browsing settings, colors, fonts, languages and accessibility settings under the Advanced tab, toolbar and text size, phishing filter, auto-complete and pop-up blocker.

Note: Third-party ActiveX controls, Toolbars, Browser Helper Objects (BHOs) and other IE extensions are disabled.

What are kept unchanged? Internet connection, proxy, VPN settings, default browser setting, Favorites, Feeds, Pre-approved ActiveX controls, Content Advisor settings, temporary internet file path setting, stored certificates information and Group Policy settings.

How To Reset Internet Explorer 9?

The steps below is valid for resetting Internet Explorer 7 and 8.

Warning: This action deletes the trusted sites that you have added and resets the parental control settings, so keep a note of these sites before you use this feature.

1. First, exit all the programs that are running, including Internet Explorer (if it is running). Better, you can simply restart your PC.

2. Click on Start, type the following command in the Start Search box, and then press Enter:

inetcpl.cpl

Windows XP users for resetting IE 7/IE 8, click Start, then click Run. Type the following command in the Open box, and then press Enter: inetcpl.cpl

3. Wait for the Internet Options dialog box to appear.

4. Now in the Internet Options dialog box, click on the Advanced tab, click Reset in the Reset Internet Explorer settings section. Click Reset again in the information dialog box.

5. When Internet Explorer finishes resetting, click Close in the confirmation dialogue box and then click OK.

6. Close and open Internet Explorer again.

If you don’t want to do all these steps, you can use Microsoft Fix it 50195, which automates the process for you.

How To Reset Specific Internet Explorer 9 Settings Only?

1. Reset Security Tab Settings only: IE 7, IE 8 and IE 9 allows you to reset security settings for all the zones or for a specific zone.

Open Internet Options dialog box by following Steps 1 and 2 described in the previous section.

Now, click on the Security tab. Click the Internet zone icon. On the Security level for this zone section, click on the Default Level button. Click Apply and OK. Follow this procedure for all the other zones.

You may also choose to revert all zones to their default levels at one go by clicking on Reset all zones to default level.

2. Reset Advanced Settings: You can reset only the advanced settings by clicking on Restore advanced settings button in the Advanced tab of the Internet Options window.

4. You don’t have to do anything else, simply start typing in the omnibox. If Google is set as the default search engine, you will start getting suggestions by Google.

To disable Google Instant in Chrome, simply follow the above first 2 steps. For the third step, simply deselect the check box and Instant will be disabled.

Earlier, we have shown you how to disable Flash completely in Google Chrome without using any plugin. But that method had a disadvantage. What if you want to have flash enabled for certain pages or websites like YouTube?

We will use Google Chrome’s in-built Click to Play feature for this tutorial. Using this method, you will be able to block flash contents including flash ads, while having the freedom to enable flash with just a click on the flash content.

How to use Chrome’s Click to Play feature to disable Flash?

1. First, open Google Chrome window if you haven’t done so yet.

2. Next, open a new tab in the browser, type about:flags and press Enter.

3. Now, in the about:flags page, scroll down until you find “Click to Play.”

   

4. Click on the link that says “Enable” to enable Click to Play in Google Chrome.

5. Now, scroll all the way to then end of this page. Click on the Relaunch Now button to restart Google Chrome and apply settings.

   

6. After Google Chrome reopens, click on the spanner icon to get access to Tools menu, select Options/Preferences.

7. Under Preferences, click on “Under the Hood.”

   

8. Now, select “Content Settings” button present in the Privacy section.

   

9. Select the Click to Play option under Plug-ins.

10. Everything is configured now! Enjoy flash free browsing and only enable flash when you need to.

    

11. To enable flash for a particular content, simply click on it.

Mozilla has released a new version of Firefox Beta for Android, with the ability for users to turn on the “Do Not Track” privacy feature. Mozilla’s shift to more frequent release cycles promises cutting edge Firefox features, performance enhancements, security updates and stability improvements to users faster.

Firefox for Android is the first mobile Web browser to offer the Do Not Track privacy feature. Do Not Track allows users to have more control over how their browsing behavior is tracked and used online by different advertising websites. When a user tells Firefox to enable the “Do Not Track” option, Firefox tells advertisers and marketers that the user has opted out of third-party behavioural tracking with cookies.

How to enable “Do Not Track” in Firefox Beta for Android?

Android users using that latest version of Firefox, can turn on the “Do Not Track” option by going to Menu > Preferences and enabling “Tell sites not to track me.“

Firefox 5 is available for Android 2.0 and higher phone with an ARMv7 processor. Firefox 5 requires 512 MB of RAM and around 17 MB of storage. However, Android 2.2 users can move Firefox and user data to the SD card using Android’s Settings app.

After the first release of Mozilla’s “developer’s” build of Firefox, Firefox Aurora, Mozilla debuted Channel Switcher that lets users switch on the fly among Aurora, Beta, and Release versions of the web browser.

The benefit of the built-in channel changer is that users who want to see what’s coming in future versions of Firefox can now do so without having to download a separate installer (Google was also having something similar for Chrome web browser called Google Chrome Channel Changer, which is now deprecated and not recommended by Google).

Here’s how to change Firefox Release Channels:

1. To change Firefox channels, you must first be running the Firefox Aurora version.
2. Go to the menu button (the big orange button on the left-hand corner of the web browser’s window), then Help, and choose About Aurora.
3. The first sentence below the version information reads, “You are currently on the Aurora update channel. Change.“
4. Click Change, and the window shows the change channel drop-down.

   

5. Choose the new channel you want to use, then select the Apply and Update button below.
6. When the updates are done downloading, click Apply Update and Firefox will restart.

After the web browser restarts, it should be running the new channel you’ve chosen. You can confirm this by going back to Help menu, then choosing About.

The channel changer does not affect your profile, so your tabs and other settings should all remain the same.

Windows, Mac, and Linux users can download Firefox Aurora here. You will be able to can now download the Firefox beta version when they are made available by Mozilla. If you’re looking for the Firefox Nightly channel, you’ll have to download it here, as it’s not offered by the channel changer.

Rovio Mobile, the makers of smash hit mobile game Angry Birds, have unleashed a HTML5 version of the popular game that’s designed to run in Chrome (or Chromium) on any operating system. This release came after an announcement by the makers of the game at Google I/O event. This made Angry Birds, one of the most popular games already available on mobile phones and tablets, available for almost all platforms.

The new release was built using WebGL and uses local-caching so players can continue to cause mayhem even when not connected to the internet.

Web browsers are the primary application used to browse the Internet by all users. Hence, it’s attacked the most from various forms of malicious threats. The most common example that we can see is when computer systems are getting infected without user’s knowledge during web browsing.
