How To Easily Disable Startup Applications in Windows 7 Temporarily [Quick Tip]

Suppose you want to “super” quickly login to Windows 7 and don’t want to wait for the startup applications to load first. Well, there is a simple way built-in Windows 7 to help you out. This will only temporarily disable your start-up applications from starting up during boot time. The simple and quick tip is as follows:

Just hold down the [ Shift ] key during the logon process and Windows will prevent any programs in the following folders from starting up:

C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Startup
C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Startup

This trick will also come handy if you want to troubleshoot Windows start-up issues.
