There have been a lot of buzz about Windows 7 GodMode in the “webosphere” in the last few days. Be it popular news sites or tech websites, everyone was having something or the other to say about the “GodMode“. If you missed the news, FYI, the so-called GodMode trick of Windows 7 is an old trick present from the Windows Vista time. Basically, Windows 7′s so-called GodMode is actually a shortcut to accessing the operating system’s various control settings, originally meant for the use of the developers.
By simply creating a new folder in Windows 7 and renaming it with a certain text string (GUID string) at the end, you will be able to access all the settings and features in a single place. Now, you can do everything from changing the look of the mouse pointer to making a new hard-drive partition from this single place.GodMode is not magical as MSDN (Microsoft Software Developer Network) has clarified here.
TheWindowsClub has released a simple, freeware utility known as “GodMode Creator” which lets you create 38 “GodMode’s” in Windows 7 / Vista with a single click.
Note: GodMode is known to be incompatible with 64-bit versions and could crash explorer.exe. If you find that this makes your explorer.exe unstable or makes it crash, please delete this folder using the command prompt, as mentioned at the end of this page.
