You should receive your invite soon. :)
Well, Google Wave is a self-described "personal communication and collaboration tool". To say about it in a simple way, Google Wave is designed as a new Internet communications platform.
Google Wave works like previous messaging systems such as email and Usenet, but instead of sending a message along with its entire thread of previous messages, or requiring all responses to be stored in each user's inbox for context, message documents (referred to as waves) that contain complete threads of multimedia messages (blips) are perpetually stored on a central server.
Hope it helps you a bit!

Hi kingpin,
Thanks for subscribing to My Technology Guide newsletter. I have nominated you for a Google Wave invite and you should receive it soon.
Note: As Google Wave invites are not sent immediately by Google, you have to wait. Here is what Google says:
No, Yahoo! Buzz is not similar to Google Wave. Yahoo! Buzz is a community-based news article website, heavily inspired by Digg, that combines the features of social bookmarking and syndication through a user interface that allows editorial control.
Hope it clears your doubt, if it isn't then just reply here, I'll help you :)

I have nominated you for a Google Wave Invite, but as told earlier in my previous comments, invites are not sent immediately. Google takes some time before you get your invite. :)
