Facebook has launched its official Facebook Poke app for iOS. Poking, which according to the company is a “fun and easy” way to “say hello to friends wherever you are.” Facebook’s official poking application for iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch users, running iOS 5.1 (and newer versions), enables them to jab their friends with a message, photo, or video.

Of course, if you have ever used the Poke feature on Facebook, you know a dedicated poke app for it doesn’t sounds exciting. So, Mark Zuckerberg and his team of Facebook developers have added a number of exciting features to enhance your poking experience. You can now poke a friend with a message, photo or video. You can even decide for how long your friends can see it via simple taps in the settings menu. The feature which lets users to set each message expire after a set amount of time – anywhere between 1, 3, 5 and 10 seconds, makes Facebook Poke app stand out from other such content sharing apps.
